And Then

about

I've decided to give up on making albums and/or EPs and just release individual songs from now on. I wrote this one after quitting a job last year, but I feel like releasing it is also a good way to mark this new direction in my musical life. It's also one of my favorite songs that I've ever written.

lyrics

The door closes behind and you wait to see what will come
What will you find now that what was is gone
And you can't even tell whether you are running to or from
It's all just as well now you need to move on

No looking back it's over now
There's nothing to go back to anyhow

Eyes facing front no more reason to turn around
It’s time to confront all those fears you’ve suppressed
All that you can do is hope that you’re not crashing to the ground
And that you'll pull through yet another test

But all that you know is that it's all too real
And you're not sure how to deal

Everything's unstable already starting to break
What if you're unable maybe you made a mistake
It doesn't matter now what's done is long past done
Let those fears shatter your new life has just begun

So breathe in deep embrace the great unknown
And just try to keep a grip on your head
You need to accept that there's nothing left to postpone
Forget all that's kept you from moving ahead

You may not feel that you're prepared
But all that counts is that you've dared
